Size Guide

The Bryde experience

Made-to-Order, Inclusive, and Personal

from the start, i knew The Bryde would break free from seasonal collections. instead, i focus on micro-drops of made-to-order styles. every gown is individually cut and sewn to the exact size ordered, meaning no stock, no bulk production—just a dedicated process for each bride.

when you’re ready to order your Bryde wedding dress, start with the size guide and then how to take your measurements guide to determine the best fit. if you need guidance or feel you might need split sizing, reach out—i’m here to help make this process as smooth as possible.

and remember: allow some room in your budget and timeline for final alterations. while these gowns are made as close to your size as possible, adjustments are often needed for that perfect fit.

plus, hey—five months is a long time, and inspiration might strike! want to add a little something extra to make it yours? i say go for it—you do you!

how to take your measurements

ready to find your perfect fit? let’s make measuring easy. follow these steps closely and refer to the diagram on the right if you have one for guidance. here’s everything you need to know:

(A) bust – wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your bust, making sure it’s snug but not tight. the tape should sit level all around your back and front. tip: only wear the undergarments (bra, shapewear, etc.) you plan to wear on your wedding day so your fit is as accurate as possible.

(B) under bust – place the tape measure directly under your bust, wrapping it around your torso, keeping it level across your back and front.

(C) waist – find the smallest part of your torso (usually about an inch above your belly button) and wrap the tape here. this is your true waist. hold the tape parallel to the floor for accuracy.

(D) high hip – measure 10 cm (around 4 inches) below your waistline, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. this captures the top of your hip area.

(E) low hip – move down about 20 cm (8 inches) below your waist to the fullest part of your hips and bottom. wrap the tape here, making sure it’s parallel to the floor. note: If your widest point is lower, use that spot as your measurement to ensure the gown fits your curves perfectly.

(G) skirt length – my wedding dresses measure about 46 inches from the true waist (smallest part of your torso) to the floor at the centre front. iIf you would like the dress longer or shorter, add this request in your order notes. tip: think about your wedding shoes and add heel height to this measurement for the most accurate length.

(H) hollow to hem (full dress length) – stick the measuring tape to a wall with the zero at floor level. this measurement is only needed if you have a longer torso or want specific bodice adjustments. it’s especially helpful if you’re ordering a dress with a longer, fitted bodice.

(I) sleeve length – stand up straight and extend your arm out slightly. measure from your shoulder bone down to where you want the sleeve to end on your wrist or hand. if you’re unsure about the exact spot, it helps to try on a few tops to see where you like the length. please add this measurement to your order notes.

(J) bicep – wrap the tape around the fullest part of your upper arm. this measurement is only needed for wedding dresses with sleeves. please add this measurement to your order notes.

each of these measurements is essential to creating a dress that’s tailored to your body. and remember, if you have any questions or need guidance, i’m here to help!
